Prince’s Walk: follow in the footsteps of the monarch
On Friday the 17th of September and Saturday the 18th of September 2021, ProDemos and the Prinsjesfestival are organizing the Prince’s Walk for the fourth time: a royal walk in the historic heart of The Hague. Walk along and follow in the footsteps of the monarch!

City of the Monarchy
The Hague is not only the political center of the Netherlands, but also the city of the Dutch monarchy. For centuries, the Orange(-Nassau) family has lived in The Hague almost continuously, first as governors, later as kings and queens.
Every year on the third Tuesday of September we celebrate Prinsjesdag (Prince’s Day): the festive opening of a new parliamentary year.
Prince’s Walk
The walk starts at the ProDemos Visitor Center at the Hofweg. This is opposite the Binnenhof (next to café-restaurant Dudok) and within walking distance of The Hague Central Station. One of our guides takes you along various important places in The Hague. For example Noordeinde Palace (the work palace of King Willem-Alexander), the Lange Voorhout, the King’s Cabinet and the Binnenhof.

Prinsjeswandeling: treed in de voetsporen van de vorst
Op vrijdag 17 september en zaterdag 18 september 2021 organiseren ProDemos en het Prinsjesfestival de Prinsjeswandeling: een koninklijke wandeling in het historische hart van Den Haag. Wandel mee en treed in de voetsporen van de vorst!
Stad van de monarchie
Den Haag is namelijk niet alleen de stad van de democratie, maar ook de stad van de monarchie. Al eeuwenlang woont de familie Van Oranje(-Nassau) bijna onafgebroken in Den Haag, eerst als stadhouders, later als koningen en koninginnen.
Elke jaar op de derde dinsdag van september vieren we Prinsjesdag: de feestelijke opening van de zitting van de Staten-Generaal, ons parlement. In aanloop naar Prinsjesdag kun je dit jaar meelopen met de Prinsjeswandeling.
Prinsjeswandeling
De wandeling begint bij het Bezoekerscentrum van ProDemos aan de Hofweg. Dit is tegenover het Binnenhof (naast café-restaurant Dudok) en op loopafstand van het Centraal Station. Onder leiding van een deskundige gids loop je langs typisch Haagsche plekken. Denk aan Paleis Noordeinde (het werkpaleis van koning Willem-Alexander), het Lange Voorhout, het Kabinet van de Koning en het Binnenhof.
Er zullen twee wandelingen plaatsvinden:
Ronde 1: 10:30-12:30
Ronde 2: 14:30-16:30
Deze wandeling wordt aangeboden in het Engels en start om 14:30.
